- Telephone Directories
- White Pages
- White Pages is a telephone directory for people
and businesses, but it also has reverse directory, where you
can look up a phone number or address and get the name.
Just enter a street, and get those living on the street.
You can even search just using the last name.
One annoying
thing, though, is that some results are "sponsored" and
thus most of the results is not free.
- Zaba Search
- Some people had complained that
this site invades their privacy. You can only
search by name or phone number. With name you can specify a
state to limit the results. The results show names, addresses,
phone numbers, and sometimes age. Their purpose is to sell you
more information about people. They gather information from
more than just telephone directories, obviously. So, you have
unlisted phone numbers presented. You get spouses who might
not be in telephone directories. A lot of the information
could be old, if the people have moved around.
There is another site People
Finders that provides the age, city, alternate names, and
names of others possibly related to the person. I had not
found any errors at ZabaSearch, but I have seen errors
in age and name spelling at People Finders. I have
found some people at People Finders that I could not
find at ZabaSearch . Both of these sites exist in
order to try to sell you more information. That part I don't
endorse.
- Classmates
- If you are looking for old friends, you might find them
at Classmates.com . People have to register
themselves here, within a school graduating class.
You can send your lost friends e-mail, but one of you has to
be a fee-paying member for it to be received.
But, as we all know, Classmates, MySpace, and other
sites like them have been replaced by the all-pervasive Facebook.
